City Visions: The Year in Architecture

Host Joseph Pace and a panel of experts look at San Francisco's changing urban landscape and the most notable - and most controversial - development projects of 2017.  Are any of these new buildings architecturally significant?  Can architecture be used to help the city's social problems?  And how is all this new construction fitting in with San Francisco's existing architectural ecosystem?

Producer:  Wendy Holcombe

Guests:

John King, urban design critic for the San Francisco Chronicle.  He is also the author of "Cityscapes 2: Reading the Architecture of San Francisco."

Lisa Iwamoto, Principal at IwamotoScott Architects and Professor of Architecture at the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.  Her significant projects include the development of the existing San Francisco Tennis Club at 88 Bluxome St. and the interiors of the Pinterest headquarters.

Stanley Saitowitz, Principle at Natoma Architects and Professor Emeritus of Architecture at the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.  His significant projects include the multi-family 8 Octavia St. at the corner of Octavia and Market St.s and the apartment building at 1080 Sutter St.
